HUNT ONE OF ALBERTA'S LAST FRONTIERS FOR BIG BEARS! - Our hunting area
lies near Wood Buffalo National Park, a 14,000 square mile sanctuary and resevoir
for those BIG bears. Much of the area we will be hunting has never been hunted
for bears.
Outdoor writer and bear hunting aficianado Bill Vaznis, in an article entitled "Bowhunting Bombers" in "SPORTSMAN'S BOWHUNTING ANNUAL 1998" writes: Inaccessible wilderness country is a necessary ingredient for bomber bear production". He further states that "Alberta is definitely trophy bear country" and goes on to recommend Silvertip Outfitters as an outfitter who consistently produces "bomber" size bears.
Our widely spaced and well stocked bait sites are accessed by all terrain
vehicle and boat. We offer the opportunity to spike camp deep into the wilderness.
SMALL CAMP - PERSONAL SERVICE - We take a maximum of 4 hunters per week, unless a larger group wishes to book together. We take both rifle and bowhunters, but try to have separate gun and bowhunting weeks. Hunters may bring both bow and rifle if desired.
HUNTS INCLUDE - Pickup at nearest airport (Town of High Level), transport to camp, one guide per two hunters, active baits, comfortable stands or blinds, hunting transport, trophy care. Our main camp is a comfortable tent operation, with a cook tent, dining tent with floor, 2 hunters per woodstove heated sleeping tents, cots, all bedding and towels. Full time cook and delicious meals. Hunts are 6 days, with hunters arriving and leaving on Mondays. If hunters arrive early enough on Monday, it is possible to hunt that day, making 7 days of hunting. The last day of hunting is Sunday night, and hunters are taken to High Level on Monday for their flight.
2006 HUNT DATES - May 9-14, May 16-21, May 23-28, May 30-June 4.
HUNT FEES - $US 2800 plus 3.5% tax plus licence. Additional fee of $US 500 if
second bear killed. Licence fees - $US 150 (includes 2 bear tags and wolf.)
50% deposit on booking, balance on arrival.
